.:. International Food. .:.
Had no idea how to title my post, so I came up with that ;p (Sorry about the delay in blogging too).
Obviously as you can see from the title, this is gonna be another food post, more specificly about the food I ate last week, which as the name suggests is more than one kind and hails from different part of the wor
In chronological order of the food that entered my stomach, I shall start with Crystal Jade Korean BBQ, at Nex. Slowly but surely, my family is trying to go to every single restaurant there is in Nex and try their food. So this time, we came to this shop. Firstly, let me state, this restaurant is what I term as Korean BBQ concept, not Korean BBQ itself. Meaning to say, it incorporates the idea of BBQing meat on a grill, but does not specialise in Korean cuisine. Think Seoul Garden.

Vareity wise, there was enough kinds of both uncooked and cooked food to keep me satisfied. The meats were marinated quite well, my fav being mutton and spicy chicken. There was also Pork belly, which is fattening beyond mention, but tastes heavenly. Steamboat wise, there's probably the normal selection of steamboat stuff, plus afew quirks like Lard and Pig Intestines(my fav). As for the cooked food, I didn't attempt to take any, cos none looked interesting enough to make me want to fill my tummy space. Dessert nothing very special, jus ice cream and jelly with different flavourings. So as you can see, the main thing that entered my mouth that night was MEAT!
Ambience wise it's not bad. Not very noisy, and what I like about it especially is the excellent ventilation. Maybe its because they used open vents instead of a covered ceiling, there wasn't much smoke hanging around. Pretty sure everybody does not like leaving a BBQ place smelling like what you just ate right.
Service was very good. The waiter were super prompt, the moment they see your soup finishing will magically appear and help u top up. And when you're table is cluttered, they will auto come and help you clear the plates.
Though only thing I can complain about is the pricing. I mean it's Crystal Jade afterall. Not really something as a teenager I'll go unless occasion alls for it, perhaps more of a adult place.

Oh and this is my favourite food of all time! Man tou!!! Be it steamed or fried, I love it all!!! There's just something about this flour thingy that is very appealing to me. So much so that after being very full from binging, I still couldn't control and ate 3 (cos I only discovered it's prescence last).
Next, Swee Choon. Went there with GOF. Sort of a send-off for mich. Didn't take any pictures there, sorry. I believe this is the first time I'm blogging bout this place. I've been to this place many many times, my dad likes to drive us to ulu places for food. I remember this place as the Backalley dim sum. Cause that's where you eat xD. I didn't know it was such a famous place until one night when GOF went there.
It's basically a Dimsum place, plus La mian. Afew special dishes to reccomend. The onion pancake is very nice, must eat with the sauce. Har Gao is my favourite. Banana and Prawn fritter was a good combination(think goreng pisang with prawns inside). The Spicy and sour soup is also very good. Though those who can't take spicy beware hehe xD. For dessert the Red bean pancake is also very good.
In total, 7 of us spent $105 there. Shows you how much we ate huh muahaha. Power of teenagers! And as a side track for recording purposes, another interesting news about GOF this time surfaced, or should I say an update. So we're now 2 down, 8 more to go? Haha :).
Last, on Labour day (hence the delay in blogging), went with my parents to Vivocity. No idea what to eat, we anyhow chose a restaurant to try.

As the name suggest, it specialises in Taiwan food. Take note it's not Taiwan snack/street food, it's their main eats. We ordered Pig Trotters mee sua, Braised Pork rice, Fried Tofu, Clams and some kinda mushroom thingy (which I didn't take photo of cos I aready started eatingby the time it came). And for drinks, I took Pearl Milk Tea. Don't question why I ordered that in a restaurant, I just felt right.

The Braised Pork rice, or 滷肉飯, was pretty good. Sauce wasnt too salty nor oily, enough meat to cover and have with all the rice. Plus an egg and vege. Note the bowl is freaking big, maybe that's why it's so expensive.

I loved the clams the most. Clams are like my favourite seafood to eat. And this is simply garnished with a mix of chilli and garlic. Plus its served cold. So the whole thing is very very refreshing.
Though point to note, I found the place to be too expensive. Could be cos it was at Vivo. 3 of us, the bill was close to $70. Too expensive imo. Food was bad, but I probably wouldn't go there again cos of the price.
So once again that's another food post. Till next time, crave, eat and be happy :).
