.:. USS .:.
Garang-ness to the max...

Now I can finally say that being a Singaporean, I've been to USS already. Haha. No need paiseh.
To be honest, I was never a theme park person. Reason being? Ever since I was little, I was under the terrible curse of very very bad motion sickness. So whenever my family goes on trips overseas, half the time I'm sufferring cos of the long plane/bus rides. Especially mountain roads, which jus like to go round and round and round...omg. Hence, I've never attempted the impossible task of getting on a roller coaster.
Up until now that is.
For some reason, my Staff suggested that for our army platoon cohesion we go USS. And that was after alot of thinking, so ya I'm not going to just let my problem spoil everything. Garang PS sia. Oh well. For my platoon, I guess about anything's fine with me. That's me. My platoon has gone through everything with, and for, me. So if you're willing to die for me, I'll die for you too :).
And therefore I sat my first ever roller coaster ride of my life. Most importantly, I managed to conquered all the essential rides in USS XD. Mega achievement for me sia. Hoho.
Now, what's my take on taking such rides. Once is enough. HAHA! Seriously, I dun get why people like to just keep taking the rides again and again. Once is enough for me. I guess people just like the adrenaline rush ba. I do admit the adrenaline rush is definitely there. Like OMG suddenly the roller coaster is diving down at top speed and then doing turns and spins. How to not adrenaline rush. Siao siao. seriously no joke. Though I must admit it was pretty shiok to be shouting "ORD LO!" when your body is being pushed to top speeds :).
I guess the company for the rides is as important. It was kinda cool that we get to sit for most of the rides as a whole platoon, 24 of us. Lucky we went on a weekday so the only waiting time we had was so that we could sit together. It wouldn't have been as fun if we had sat seperately, I most probably wouldn't have been pushed on the Cyclon (blue) roller coaster ride.
Now that I'm recalling it, it was kinda funny. Those adrenaline junkies were like rushing to the ride, while the rest of us reluctant ones were liked being herded into the gates helplessly, all manner of protests fell into deaf ears. And while waiting for the rides, we were like panicking together LOLZ.
Fun times...or at least it was looking back now.
Ok that's bout enough of my personal experience. Abit on the commentary of the place. Having been to afew theme parks around the world, I guess I got to compare abit. Obviously, USS is Really small. I mean I expected it to be small, but essentially its like the shape of a lollipop if u get what I mean. There really isn't much to walk. So you dun have to worry bout not being able to finish it in 1 day, unless the queues for the rides are SUPER long.
But I must say, the place is very well segregated. While small, it still managed to retain the usual sectioned pattern of theme parks, with each theme area very well distinct and seperated. And there's enough themes I guess to keep people interested.
One thing that really hit me, even though how many theme parks I've been to, is how expensive the things are. Yes I know the things for tourists. But $10.50 for a plate of ayam penyet, $4 for a corndog/churro...I mean seriously. Maybe when I was visiting the other parks around the world, cos the currency isn't Singapore dollar, it didn't hit me as That expensive. But seeing USS, its like getting hit on the head with a hammer. OMG. No wonder people say once is enough.
So thats my experience/thoughts bout USS, after finally stepping into it. As to whether I'll step into it ever again, it largely depends on the company I guess, since food wise I can always dapao from vivo hehe :)
