.:. Toothless Eats .:.
Om nom nom nom...
For some unknown reason, even though I've plucked out the last set of wisdom tooth this week, I ate alot of good food in this span of 7 days too. Guess that's the power of food huh. Or maybe its jus me. I can't stand eating porridge for 7 days...I'll faint (no offence to porridge lovers out there).
So let's begin.
Wed met up with my sec sch mates for a catchup session. After walking 1 round of the whole AMK, we finally settled on eating at Nyny at AMK Hub. My 3rd time eating there liao. My friends ordered some sorta platter to share, while I had the Mozarella cheese and mushroom chicken thingy. I still think that's the most worthwhile for money thing there, considering I'm a carnivore. I got this really huge piece of deep fried battered chicken, which isn't too heavy, and the meat's real juicy. Abit of vege at the side to ease off the greasiness and fries. But the main is meat so yup too awesome :).
Though on a side note, I learnt something from my friends bout that Yankee burger challenge thingy. They were saying its not the burger that kills...its the fries. I dunnoe cos sadly I've never seen any other people challenge it before, much less try it myself. I've got this impulse to want to try it someday, to finish everything within the hour. Only thing that's holding me back is the cost of me failing and my low chance of success lolz. Think of the bragging rights I'll get if I conquered that burger. Hmmm...must be from watching too much MvF lolz.
Onto more meat.
On friday I went to Ssikkek Korean Grill place cos it's my guys' ORD day. How can we not eat! It was suppose to be XLB buffet but it was all booked out before hand. I didn't know how famous the place was, until when we reached and I saw this long queue of people lining up outside. Luckily we made a reservation liao.
I strongly reccomend the place for carnivores like me. It's superb. You get this grill plate, which is slightly slanted so that all the old that is produced will flow down and out of the meat instead of ending up in your tummy. And one thing which is really good is that the fire there is super strong. Once you put the meat down you can see it sizzle, instead of some shops where you spend more time waiting then eating. We ended up having to slow down the cooking cos input was slower than output LOLZ. How awesome is that!
And the quality of the meat is very good. You get very good cuts of the meat, my fav being this lamb which is like the cut of pork rib. And the cuts of the meat are super generous. Like HUGE HUGE chunks/slices of meat for your taking. Just gotta figure out which you want to eat first. The only thing I found alittle not so good is the variety of the meat. There's isn't alot to choose from, I think bout less than 10 kinds all together, and they don't label the meats (which is alittle bit troublesome for non-beef person like me). But the quality of the meat will more than make up for it. I didn't have trouble feasting on the meats that are there, so its enough I would say.
The service of the place is also top-notch. Even though it was fully packed, the people there dun forget to be polite at all. Whenever they come over to replace the aluminium foil for you and such, they'll always start with an "excuse me" and "thank you", with a smile on their faces. And if accidentally abit of oil splatters during the process, they'll apologize even though its not their fault, and you can see that they really mean it. This is one of the places I would gladly pay service charge for.
Oh just a minor note. Dun bring friends who love kpop there. Cos we ended up having 2 "less" people cos the moment they sat down they are glued to the tv, barely eating. Whole time just seat there and eat "candy" if u get what I mean. So ya, no point for them to go. Haha!
And lastly.
Nth really to reccomend. Ate at this Punggol Seafood place at Marina Country Club cos it's my mum's birthday. The place is the kind whereby without a car, you can totally forget bout going, cos its max ulu. It's a place for people to park their yatches and such la, so that's what you would expect.
Had like Chilli crab, fish, pork rib etc etc. Not super special or worth reccomending, just a fare of very good food for the occasion. And more food that ends up in this belly of mine :).
So that's the major good food that I've been eating this week. Not bad for a person with 4 less tooth now hehe.
