.:. Melaka/KL .:.
DFS at the custom?
Yup in less than a week of my trip to penang, I went back to Malaysia again! Haha. But this time with friends :). My first trip overseas with friends, so Yipee!
Original plan was to have 6 person, but last minute Ryan had diarrhea, so he couldn't make it. So its jus 5 person in the end. Oh well, the trip goes on. First was to Melaka, which took an awfully long 6 hours! The bus driver was like...Slow. So slow until me and sushan were saying that the whole journey he din even overtook 1 car!
Anyways. we made it to Melaka, met up wth zy who was only 30mins later. Cabbed to our hostel, Sayang Sayang. First time staying in hostel abroad. Compared to a hotel its definitely lacking, but we're teenagers, can't expect to stay in hotel ma. And I must say army does make the feeling of sleeping anyway possible, so kudos to it? But then again, the place was really good. We had our own "rooms", and the whole place was quite comfy. And most important of all, its quite near the places of attractions (meaning everything's of walking distance) so excellent. No complains :).
First day (or rather the remaining hours of it) was spent at Jonker Street. We walked the whole street thrice, eating Alot of food hehe. Jus to name some of the things we ate, Chicken rice ball, fried carrot cake, mua chi, bing tang hu lu, chendol, egg cake, some kinda ice cream, potato tower, sesame paste. Woohoo! I tink that's the point of going malaysia, or overseas at all. FOOD! And the cheaper the better. Its jus eat and eat and eat, how to not be happy!
Second day in Melaka we became tourists, visiting all the touristy places, snapping photos. Really everything's within walking distance. That took like the morn-early noon. Then its shopping. If i remember it was 3 hours? So the gals went their way and me and zy went ours. In the end, me and zy ended up walking the span of 4 malls!!! All the while not really shopping, jus talking haha! We're guys what u expect. Then dinner at a rather famous Satay Celup stall. For those who dunnoe, its simply Satay steamboat. Kinda cool huh. Worth the try I say, thou the queue was like IMBA long. But the good thing bout goin out with friends is you're never bored ;p
3rd day coached over to KL, pridelessly took a cab to our UFO capsule hotel. I must say I wasn't impressed with the place. During checkin the service was horrible, but the second day reception guy was Really helpful and friendly, reccomending us places to go and eat. Cleanliness also not very good. And the it's really jus a place to sleep. So if that's the place you want that I tink its ok. Though its aptly situated jus behind Times Square. So we settled a quick lunch at kfc (with sushan almost losing her wallet), and then its shopping again. This time, we guys covered the whole mall thrice, but the gals only did 1 level!!! Can you believe it???!!! OMG. Oh well. Was supposed to find a place with better ambience to celebrate JiaYen's belated bdae, but all too full then end up at Secret recipe.
4th day, original plan was to go sunway. But given the weather of rain for 4 days, we decided not to, and instead to tour KL. Breakfast was jus anyhow walk. Came aross this coffeeshop which looked local enough, so ya. I tink that's wat I like bout self-guided tours. You get to find such local joints and eat what the ppl eat, I tink its much better than going restaurants or eating hotel buffet. Morn we walked to Little India (of which most of the shops weren't open yet), then Petaling street (their chinatown). Lucky by then it was like noon so the stalls were open liao. It was really alot of walking around the city, simply relying on jus 1 map. But I like walking like tat, can slowly take in the sights, and see the places on the map in actual. That's what tours should be about. No rush, no fuss, jus walk and enjoy.
Then its shopping again! What to expect the gals only cleared 1 level ma haha! Tired after walking, me and zy went pitstop at Auntie Annes' first. Like a relax sia, jus walk/shop then sit down relax with a snack and drink. This kind of tour I LIKE! Gave up on Times square, so me and zy decided to explore outside, only to find ourselves getting lost in Sungei Wang Plaza, which was quite big and the place was very intertwined so hard for us to say walk 1 round level by level. And didn't really bought much, if anything at all. I was really hoping to get like clothes or wat, but the fashion there seems to favour...pardon me "Terence" style of clothing, so not me, and therefore not much to buy. Oh well. Dinner was at a street reccomended by the nice reception guy of our hotel. Our one and only Zhe Char of the trip. Then its bus back home.
As you can see this is just a post, as in really post post. Not in the mood now for inspirational nor anything, not even gna post pics, simply documenting my first trip overseas with friends. Hopefully can do more of such trips in future. Shop, sightsee, eat and be merry. Yipee!
